Polish team captain Bartosz Zmarzlik is determined to make history for his country as he leads the squad in the hunt for gold at the 2026 FIM BOLL Speedway World Cup Final, taking place this Saturday night at Warsaw’s legendary PGE Narodowy Stadium.
As defending champions, Poland will face three formidable rivals—Australia (2025 Speedway of Nations winners), Denmark, and Great Britain—in this year’s premier track racing event. The showdown promises to be a spectacular affair, with over 40,000 fans packing Poland’s most iconic stadium.
The last time these four nations met, in 2023, they produced one of the greatest team finals in FIM Speedway history. On that occasion, just six points separated Poland in first place from Australia in fourth after 20 heats of racing.
Zmarzlik is eager to deliver another thrilling contest as Poland aims for a record-extending 10th SWC title—a feat unmatched by any other nation.
"I am so happy to be back at PGE Narodowy. It is a huge honor to be here wearing our proud red-and-white colors. Representing Poland is the proudest moment of my sporting career. People might say it’s just routine—but for us, it’s much more than just a race. Everything is ready for tomorrow," said Zmarzlik. "This is the most beautiful stadium in the world, and I really want to make tomorrow night a wonderful one for all the people of Poland. Every time I take to the track—whether in the Speedway GP or the World Cup—I hold fast to one principle: representing my country and performing at my absolute best. We can't wait for tomorrow night. 🇦🇺 KURTZ: A DREAM COME TRUE — LEADING AUSTRALIA AT THE WORLD CUP!
Australian team captain Brady Kurtz is stepping onto the stage of the FIM BOLL Speedway World Cup Final for the first time in his career—a moment he has long awaited. Kurtz actually experienced the event's atmosphere back in 2016 in Manchester, though he served only as a non-riding reserve at the time. Now, he is no mere spectator; he is the leader of his nation.
2025 has been an extraordinary season for Kurtz. He made his debut in the Speedway GP World Championship and immediately stunned the world by finishing second in the standings—missing out on the title by just a single point in his rookie season! After lifting the Speedway of Nations trophy in Toruń last October, he admits that leading Australia in the World Cup Final in Warsaw is a dream finally realized.
"It feels amazing to be here. This is my first World Cup, and to be entrusted with the captaincy makes it a truly special moment. I’ve dreamed of being a GP rider for most of my life. I achieved that last year, and I think tomorrow will feel just as special. All eyes will be on this World Cup—it’s the biggest event of the year. Being here with a great team and leading them? It’s something I’ll never forget," Kurtz said proudly.
Unwelcome news arrived when star rider Jack Holder was forced to withdraw due to injury. However, this has opened up a massive opportunity for two riders who have been waiting for their chance: Ryan Douglas (32) and Rohan Tungate (36). Both will be making their debuts in the most prestigious event of their careers, competing before tens of thousands of spectators at the PGE Narodowy Stadium. Kurtz has full confidence in the abilities of his two new teammates. "It’s a shame Jack couldn't join us. He was right there with me, helping take this team as far as we’ve come, including the victory in Torun. His absence is definitely felt—we all feel it. But that doesn't mean we’re giving up," Kurtz continued.
"Ryan is coming in in fantastic form—he has huge potential. I remain fully confident that we have a strong team. Both Ryan and Rohan possess exceptional quality. Ryan has broken into the top four riders and has proven himself over the last two great seasons. A stadium track like this actually suits his riding style perfectly. We’ve trained today, and tomorrow, when the action kicks off, we’ll see what we can deliver. I’m sure they’ll put in a brilliant performance."

🇩🇰 MJJ: WE’RE READY TO REPEAT GOLDEN HISTORY IN WARSAW!
Denmark team captain Michael Jepsen Jensen returns to the venue that hosted his debut at Warsaw’s PGE Narodowy—back when the first Speedway GP event was held there in 2015. After an absence of nearly a decade from the sport's elite stage, the Esbjerg native has surged back into the main Speedway GP series for the 2026 season and currently sits fourth in the World Championship standings.
The biggest victory of MJJ’s international career came in 2012, when he played a starring role in Denmark’s Speedway World Cup triumph in Målilla, Sweden—scoring 11 points to tie with captain Niels-Kristian Iversen as the team's top scorer. Now, 14 years later, he aims to replicate that glorious achievement on Polish soil.
"It’s going to be amazing! We have a really strong squad this year. I’m confident this will be one of the best events in recent years. And of course, the stadium makes it perfect. PGE Narodowy is incredible, and I can’t wait for tomorrow night," said Jepsen Jensen.
"The team spirit is very positive. We’re working really well together. Everyone is hungry for victory, and it’ll be exciting to see what we can achieve tomorrow."

🦁 LAMBERT: WE’RE COMPETING WITH HEART DESPITE MISSING KEY STARS
Great Britain captain Robert Lambert acknowledges the challenge facing the team at the FIM BOLL Speedway World Cup Final in Warsaw, as they compete without two key pillars: the injured Dan Bewley and three-time world champion Tai Woffinden, who has recently retired. Nevertheless, he remains hopeful that "The Lions" can deliver their best performance in the most prestigious team event in Speedway history.
"At the start of the season, our dream was simple: if all the riders were in top form, gold wasn't out of the question. But reality had other plans. We have to be realistic—the task ahead is huge. If we manage to come home with a medal, it would be an incredible achievement for us," Lambert said.
"For me personally, it’s an honor to stand in a stadium as magnificent as this. The Speedway World Cup is the pinnacle of the sport—every rider dreams of wearing their national colors at this event. We look forward to this moment every year. Leading the team in this amazing stadium is a source of great pride. We’re ready to give it our all."
"It’s a real shame. We had hoped 'Woffy' would be fit to compete, but injury struck again, and he ultimately decided to retire. Not to mention the bad news about Dan, who also has to sit out due to injury."
"But amidst this situation, we’re giving opportunities to young riders—which is great for the future of the national team. It will be a valuable experience for them, and I’m curious to see what they can show on the track. Our spirits remain high. We can't wait to get out there and race!"
